How to setup Jekyll on Windows to use with Github Pages

26 May 2019

Before you start, you need to install Ruby Devkit on your Windows machine.

After installing that, open Command Prompt (Windows key + R and type cmd) and install github-pages gem using gem install github-pages.

That’s all, now go to the your page repository folder and run Jekyll using jekyll serve, by default it will run on port 4000 but you can change it using --port paremeter (e.g. jekyll serve --port 1337).
